As the 2025-26 NBA regular season reaches its close, the Orlando Magic are suddenly one of the league's most intriguing late-season risers,. Much of that momentum is tied to Franz Wagner 's timely resurgence. They sit at 45-36 and ride a five-game winning streak,. As such, Orlando has flipped the script from fringe contender to dangerous playoff entrant. Wagner himself openly acknowledges he's "finding my rhythm" at exactly the right moment.

The Magic are fresh off a steady 25-point effort in a crucial win over the Chicago Bulls . Wagner's calm confidence reflects a player rediscovering his offensive flow within a system built on balance and chemistry. Alongside Paolo Banchero's team-leading scoring load , Wagner's 20.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game have provided Orlando with a dependable second engine. That's particularly true in half-court situations where his decision-making has sharpened down the stretch.
Just as important, Wagner has highlighted the team's depth as a defining strength. He has praised contributions from role players like Goga Bitadze and Desmond Bane . Their energy and execution have elevated the second unit.
"I think we really like each other as a team," Wagner noted, underscoring a cohesion that has translated directly into wins.

Orlando has one game remaining against the Boston Celtics . With that, the Magic still have a pathway out of the Play-In Tournament and into a top-six seed. That's a remarkable possibility given the Eastern Conference logjam. Whether they climb or stay put, Wagner's late-season rhythm, combined with Orlando's "next man up" mentality, signals a team not just preparing for the playoffs, but one that could disrupt them.
