INDIANAPOLIS —Tyasha Harris played a pivotal role for the Indiana Fever as their backup point guard during the 2026 WNBA season. Thenshe got injuredand had a pivotal role in Raven Johnson's playoff ascent. Now she's a free agent.
"(I) don't have a status update," White said. "I know she has had successful surgery, and right now we're just checking in on her, making sure that she's feeling good and feeling OK."
"It's heartbreaking," White said on Sept. 27. "Certainly, an emotional locker room after the game. Ty means a lot to us as a human being, and she means a lot to us as a player, too. I hate it for her because she worked so hard to get back. We're going to be with her through all of it."

White added Harris was a "big part of what (we) do" and called her a floor general. She said Harris settled the team and praised her ability to hit shots. All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell called Harris a "big piece" in the locker room.
Johnson handled primary backup point guard responsibilities during the playoffs. The rookie guard averaged 7.3 points in 21 minutes per game against the Aces. She posted 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting in Game 1.
"It felt like a regular game, just with more intensity and more physicality. The room for margin of error is very small, but it feels like college," Johnson told IndyStar. "I'm used to the bright lights. So there wasn't any pressure."
Harris, who also played for South Carolina in college, texted Johnson on Sunday morning to encourage her. Though Johnson was "ready for the moment," Johnson said she wanted to "play hard" for Harris.

White and Fever general managerAmber Coxstressed the need for frontcourt depth and a better defensive team next season. Harris contributes to the latter. But only time will tell if the Fever's desperation for a big will impact Harris' return.
