Nov. 3—Gonzaga remains in the picture for one of the top prospects in the 2027 high school recruiting class.
Combo guard Jalen Davis, a five-star recruit from Bremerton considered to be the top high school player in Washington, named Gonzaga as one of his four finalists just days before an official visit to Spokane for Saturday's home opener against New Mexico State.
Davis is also considering Washington, UCLA and North Carolina, he told On3.com 's Joe Tipton. The guard doesn't currently have a commitment date set, according to Tipton.
Davis previously unveiled a list of 10 schools, featuring Gonzaga, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Texas Tech, USC, Iowa, TCU, BYU and Ole Miss.
The Bremerton High standout is the No. 21 overall recruit in the high school class of 2027, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking that averages ratings from three major recruiting services: Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports.
Davis is also considered the No. 7 player at his position by On3/Rivals, which lists the 6-foot-4 prospect as a point guard.
"Davis has positional size, but he is also comfortable on or off the ball," On3's Jamie Shaw wrote in an evaluation of Davis. "With his length, he has some sneaky speed with the ball in his hands and can really put pressure on the defense in the open floor. He is also a quality shooter from 3-point range.
"As he cleans up his footwork and continues to work on his reads, there is real upside here with his natural abilities and physical gifts."
Davis had a strong summer on the AAU Adidas 3SSB Circuit, averaging Adidas 3SSB Circuit, Davis averaged 24.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.8 steals per game for Slow Grind Elite.
The Zags currently have one player committed in the 2027 class, from five-star combo guard Dooney Johnson, a Milwaukee native who transferred to East River High School in Orlando for his senior season.
