It's been quite some time since the Minnesota Vikings employed Teddy Bridgewater. However, he has continued to pop up in the news cycle during recent seasons. After briefly being rostered by the Detroit Lions for parts of two seasons , he surfaced again last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
Maybe most notably of late, has been Bridgewater's work as the head coach of his high school alma mater. Last summer he was in hot water due to differing politics , and ultimately the school reprimanded him for impermissible benefits infractions.
Florida law just said not so fast.

One time MN Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater lands political win
Despite being a volunteer, and therefore not an employee of Miami Northwestern, Teddy Bridgewater came under fire for using his own money on players. Covering rides to and from practice, as well as food and other necessities, his charitable decision instead led to him being shown the door.
After a vote from the Florida senate, the Teddy Bridgewater Act unanimously passed . There are still multiple steps before it will be official deemed law.
Given the significant support from the Senate, it seems logical the the House would pass the bill as well. It will then go to the desk of Governor Ron DeSantis and be ratified.
The bill "allows K-12 head coaches to use $15,000 in personal funds annually to support student-athlete welfare, such as food, transportation, and recovery services." Bridgewater would have certainly been within his rights to operate as he was if this had already been in place.
In a since-removed Facebook post, the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater noted that the suspension was more about politics being played by school administrators.
Damn people done caused all this confusion. Got a phone call tonight and it's no real investigation going on.. I told you I have to be an employee to be investigated. Now the paperwork thing still stands but there was no investigation… We SELF REPORTED..
Verne and his Admnistrative homeboys want me gone apparently and tried to hire one of my dawgs like bro wasn't gone lace me up… The suspension came from MNW and it's impossible to suspend someone who doesn't work for you. So if im suspended from MNW im free to go to another school of my choice but IM NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem.
This my last post about this bs.
Although the ruling is a significant win for coaches looking too aid their players, it probably won't get Bridgewater his job back. Is also worth wondering if he'd even want it after how the school administration handled the whole process.
