The NHL has witnessed a historic scoring streak, with the Florida Panthers becoming the first team in league history to record a natural hat trick in three consecutive games.
Florida made history during its dominant 8-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, as Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett both recorded hat tricks. Verhaeghe's performance secured the Panthers' place in the record books, extending a remarkable run that began earlier in the week.
A natural hat trick occurs when a player scores three consecutive goals without an opponent or teammate scoring between them. Florida's achievement highlights an extraordinary stretch of offensive production early in the season.

The historic run began last Tuesday when Brady Tkachuk scored three goals in the second period of Florida's 7-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The performance was especially memorable because it marked Tkachuk's first goal as a Panther. His older brother, Matthew Tkachuk, assisted on all three goals, making the occasion even more special for the siblings.
Brady followed that performance with another natural hat trick against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. His third goal came in overtime, sealing a 3-2 victory and giving Florida natural hat tricks in consecutive games.
Verhaeghe then continued the streak against Seattle, scoring three goals across the first and second periods to establish the NHL record.
Bennett added another hat trick in the 8-3 victory, including his first goal of the season. His performance provided further evidence of Florida's offensive depth, with multiple players contributing to the team's impressive scoring output.

According to NHL Stats, Florida is also just the third team in the past 30 years to record a hat trick of any kind in three consecutive games.
The 1992 Calgary Flames and the 1982 Edmonton Oilers each recorded stretches featuring hat tricks in four consecutive games. However, neither team accomplished the specific feat achieved by the Panthers, who recorded natural hat tricks in three straight contests.
Florida now has four hat tricks this season, matching its combined total from the previous three regular seasons.
The Panthers will have an opportunity to extend their remarkable run when they travel to face the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.
After making NHL history, Florida will look to maintain its offensive momentum as the season continues. With several players finding the back of the net, the Panthers have demonstrated just how dangerous their attack can be.
