The Philadelphia Flyers took a 3-0 series lead against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Since then, the team has won just one of its last six games. The Flyers fell 4-1 in Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes to fall down 0-3 in the series.
After the game, Flyers center Christian Dvorak spoke about being down in the series, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.
"We just can't worry about anything else other than winning one hockey game," Dvorak said. "You win one and then the pressure starts to flip. We know we have it in this room. We're not going to quit. We're going to bring our best effort and just do what we can Saturday."
The Flyers had opportunities to take Game 3. They gave up a powerplay goal in the first period, but then tied the game early in the second period on a goal from Trevor Zegras . They then went on the powerplay in the second period after Taylor Hall was called for boarding. Instead of taking the lead, Jalen Chatfield scored a shorthanded goal to make it 2-1. Moments later, the Flyers would have a 5-on-3 man advantage, and were not able to find the back of the net.
"Obviously, it was a big moment of the game," Dvorak said. "Would have been nice to create a little bit more and worst case get some momentum."
The Flyers will now look to stave off elimination. Game 4 of the series is set for Saturday, with puck drop at 6 p.m. ET.
