New formation, same story as Juventus lose 2-0 at Genoa
Juventus were beaten 2-0 by Genoa at the Marassi last night, and the result proved once again that this team cannot be trusted, with there possibly being deeper problems at the club. Luciano Spalletti is desperately trying to save his job and has used a 3-5-2 formation since the 3-0 home loss to Lazio . It worked well against Lecce, but against Genoa, it crumbled.
Juventus started well against Lecce, but against Genoa they conceded the first goal after just 12 minutes, thanks to Kingsley Ehizibue, who found space in the Juventus defence. It was the ideal start for Genoa, and before Juventus had settled, Tommaso Baldanzi extended the lead as the Bianconeri looked clueless when defending against the AS Roma loanee.

A Poor Defensive Display
Juventus are a top team with more expensive players on the pitch, so their supporters would have expected a comeback. However, by half-time, there was no sign that one was coming. The men from the Allianz Stadium simply could not respond, even after the interval.
Genoa defended as much as they could, but the bigger problem was Juventus' inability to get back into the match. They lacked the hunger and dominance expected of a big team, and even when they threatened, it still felt like a largely comfortable evening for Genoa.

Questions for Spalletti
By full time, several Bianconeri players had their heads in their hands and appeared ashamed of the performance they delivered on a night when so much was expected from them. The defeat raises serious questions about the team's mentality, tactical structure and ability to respond to setbacks.

Spalletti now faces mounting pressure to find answers quickly. The 3-5-2 system brought some stability against Lecce, but its failure against Genoa suggests that Juventus' problems extend beyond formation alone. Unless the team rediscover their intensity, defensive organisation and attacking threat, further difficult results may follow.
