"Through baseball, I met wonderful people, people who contributed so much to my career and helped shape me into the person I am today.
"To my Parents and brothers, whom I love so much, thank you for everything, for being there during those difficult moments that we were able to overcome together. To my wife, whom I love deeply, thank you for understanding me, for supporting me, and for giving me words of encouragement whenever I needed them.
"To my children, Dad will no longer have to spend so much time away from home. You have no idea how happy I am to finally spend more time with you. To my family, which is very large, my friends, the fans, and every baseball organization that gave me an opportunity… to the coaches and all those people who worked with my behind the scenes. To all my people from Colombia who supported me, thank you for motivating me to keep moving forward.
"And to every person who, in one way or another, helped make my career much better—THANK YOU. I will always carry you in my heart, and the beautiful memories will stay forever. With love, Giovanny Urshela Salcedo."
