- Former Duke RB Anderson Castle signs with Indianapolis Colts
Former Duke running back Anderson Castle has found an NFL home after officially signing with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent (UDFA).
Castle may not have heard his name called during the draft, but three weeks after being first connected to the Colts , he has officially signed with the team and found his first NFL home. In doing so, he joins fellow former Blue Devils Daniel Jones , Eli Pancol and Sahmir Hagans, the latter of whom was teammates with Castle last season.
After 54 games at Appalachian State, Castle came to Duke for the 2025 season as a Graduate Transfer, playing all 14 games with the Blue Devils and rushing for 488 yards (4.2 avg.) on 115 carries, finishing the season with 12 touchdowns, operating primarily as a short-yardage specialist. Despite his primary function in that role, he also caught 17 passes for 111 yards (6.5 avg.) and showed off some explosion on occasion, with two runs of over 60 yards during the season.
In his lone season with the Blue Devils, Castle played a key role in a historic offense that set a Duke record for total touchdowns (63) and points scored (484). His season earned him Duke's K.D. Kennedy Iron Devil Award, awarded to the Blue Devil who demonstrated the most heart, durability and toughness throughout the season.
To make room for Castle, the Colts waived fellow short-yardage UDFA Jordon Vaughn, out of Abilene Christian .
