The goal for any Notre Dame football player is to play at the next level, and following a five-year pro career, a former Irish star is hanging up his cleats .
Wide receiver Miles Boykin was taken by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft but struggled to make in impact due to a variety of injuries. His career started strongly; he caught a touchdown pass in his debut game. But a hamstring injury ended his time with the Ravens.
They released him in April of 2022. A day later the Pittsburgh Steelers claimed him off waivers. He stayed with them for two seasons, before bouncing around with multiple teams. Boykin was on the practice squads for the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks during the 2024 season and for the Chicago Bears in 2025 .
Boykin was selected by the Dallas Renegades of the UFL just under a month ago, but the prospect of not playing at the highest level made him rethink his playing career. On Tuesday, he announced he would move on from football .
During his NFL career, he caught 73 passes for 498 yards and 7 touchdowns. Most of that production came during his first two seasons with Baltimore. We wish Myles the best as he continues his journey beyond football.
