He scored 26 goals last season for the Grand Rapids Griffins , the top farm club of the Detroit Red Wings . He even got called up to the NHL for one game and took the pre-game warm-up. However, at game time, he was a healthy scratch.
This fall, in camp with the Edmonton Oilers , winger Eduards Tralmaks continues the search for one thing.
A chance is all he wants. A chance to play in the NHL.
"I haven't given up on my dream yet… Ever since I was a kid I've always had one wish & it was to play in the NHL."

"Another year, another try," Tralmaks said on the Oilers website . "I've worked my whole life for this.
"I haven't had a chance to play in the NHL yet, but I think this is a place for me to improve as a player and potentially get an opportunity. There are a lot of guys competing for a spot. But I just have to go and show my game the best I can."
Tralmaks Believes Red Wings Missed What He Has To Offer
The Red Wings signed Tralmaks in the summer of 2025 after the Latvian forward led the Czech Extraliga in scoring.
"I see myself as a power forward who can collect pucks around the goal and put them in the net," Tralmaks said. "I think a lot of teams would want someone like that.
"I have a good shot, a good first-time shot, so I can score goals even on the power play. I have a lot of different attributes. I would say I'm a very unique player. I'm more of a hard-working guy, no matter what, but I always want to put the puck in the net."

He was a regular producer for the AHL Griffins, but never got the chance to display his wares on the NHL stage while in the Detroit organization.
"It's been a long journey," Tralmaks said. "I've played at many different levels, and now I'm very close to where I want to be. I've shown what I can do in the Latvian national team, and I hope to show it now in the NHL.
"I still haven't given up on my dream. I'm 29 years old. It's hard to keep waiting, but I still believe I can do it. Since I was a kid, I've always had one wish, and that was to play in the NHL.
"So one more try. Let's hope it's not the last one, and let's hope it works out this time."
