Ohio State is expected to hire former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive quality control coach Jason Brooks in an analyst capacity, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports .
Brooks spent the last three years with the Steelers after previously working as an assistant defensive line coach with the Baltimore Ravens .
Brooks is the third former Steelers coach from Mike Tomlin's staff to join Ohio State. In January, Ohio State hired former Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to be their OC. Earlier this month, the Buckeyes hired former Steelers offensive line coach Mateo Kambui.
Kambui will serve as an offensive line assistant for Ohio State, a similar role to the one he served with the Steelers from 2024-25.
Brooks has a wealth of coaching experience, having worked on both the college and professional levels. His career began when he was a student assistant at Middle Tennessee State in 2006. The next year, he continued on to join the Miami Dolphins , with whom he was a scouting assistant and helped with tight ends.
From 2009-13, Brooks had his first stop in Baltimore. He served in various roles with the Ravens — namely offensive quality control coach. After being part of a Super Bowl champion, he headed back to the collegiate game. Until returning to Baltimore in 2021, he had jobs at Florida International, Maine's Colby College, and Charleston Southern.
