A former quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers is not interested in participating in this year's Pro Bowl Games.
The Pittsburgh Steelers almost had some extra representation in this year's Pro Bowl Games, but one of their former quarterbacks declined his invitation.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport , New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was asked to participate in this year's Pro Bowl Games but opted to focus on his offseason training instead.
Fields, 26, is coming off a disappointing first year in New York , where he went 2-7 to begin the season and was benched twice .
During that stretch, he threw for just 1,259 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. He also added 383 yards and four more scores on the ground.

Fields may get another chance to right the ship in 2026 since he signed a two-year deal, $40 million contract ($30 million fully guaranteed) with the Jets, but his struggles have many believing he could be one-and-done in New York .
Jets owner Woody Johnson didn't hold back when criticizing Fields' play, either.
"It's hard when you have a quarterback with the rating that we've got. He has the ability, but something is not jiving," Johnson told reporters at the NFL owners' fall meetings in New York City. "If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you are going to similar results across the league."
Only time will tell what Fields's fate in New York holds, but declining his Pro Bowl invite and focusing on his offseason regiment may be what is best for his career.
A native of Kennesaw, Georgia, Fields was selected with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ohio State by the Jets.
