Finding those late-round or even undrafted free agents is almost as important to building a roster as nailing your early picks or big signings in free agency. Some of the best players in NFL history have come in the later rounds. It can sting when a late-round fan favorite leaves, but in the case of this former Minnesota Viking , a chance to come back could be in play.
Former Vikings wide receiver Joaquin Davis has been released by the Pittsburgh Steelers . Davis was formerly signed and waived by the Denver Broncos before being signed by the Vikings . Jones is a speedy special-teams player with great size at 6'4 who could latch on as a practice squad player around the league.
However, with the positive momentum in Minnesota, a reunion could be in the works.
As things stand, the Vikings have 12 wide receivers on the roster heading into the 53-man roster deadline coming up soon. With a number of these players likely to be cut or moved to the PS, it might take a bit of magic in the camp of Jones to end up in Minnesota again.
