When the Wisconsin Badgers initially brought in tight end Tucker Ashcraft in the class of 2023, they felt as if they had landed a gem.
In Ashcraft's first two seasons, the former three-star totaled 20 receptions for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns, asserting himself as a long-term playmaker for the Badgers .
However, Ashcraft suffered an injury that only allowed him to make four appearances in 2025, where he went for just 10 yards through 2 receptions. Ashcraft then made the bet on himself and hit the portal, where he eventually landed with the USC Trojans , who are currently No. 11 in the US LBM Coaches Poll .
Ashcraft flipped the switch from one of the nation's most stalling offenses to one of the most exciting under head coach Lincoln Riley and quarterback Jayden Maiava . So far through USC's first three games, the Trojans have tallied 42, 39, and 49 points.
In USC's 49-30 Week 2 win, Ashcraft marked his first reception in new colors with a 12-yard catch.
USC, which took down San Jose State 42-26 in Week 0, will open Big Ten play on Saturday, September 19, at Rutgers.
