TCU football pulled out a 22-16 win over Kansas on Saturday, improving to 4-4 on the season and 2-4 in the Big 12 with four weeks remaining in the regular season. Jaden Craig led the Horned Frogs in rushing, finishing with a team-best 87 yards on 15 carries (also a team high) with one touchdown. It was his highest rushing total this year.
On the other hand, Craig endured his worst passing performance of the season. The Harvard transfer ended the win with a season-low 141 passing yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions on 13-of-29 attempts (44.1%). Through eight starts, Craig has thrown for 2,207 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions with two fumbles. After the game, TCU coach Sonny Dykes admitted he thought about benching Craig for backup Adam Schobel.
Schobel, a TCU legacy and a sophomore who signed with the Horned Frogs as a four-star prospect, hasn't started a game for the team. He's appeared in just two games this season and didn't make an appearance last season. But with four games remaining and Craig's inconsistencies hurting the team's struggling offense, TCU could move for the younger Schobel. The 6-foot-5 signal caller was a top high school prospect out of Columbus, Texas.
