Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is still supporting his old teammates from afar.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is forced to watch the team that drafted him go to the playoffs as he sits at home. However, he is still doing his best to show his support to his former teammates.
Pickens recently posted Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III's game-winning touchdown catch against the Baltimore Ravens on his Instagram story.
It may be a tough pill to swallow for Pickens, who will miss the playoffs after having a career year with the Dallas Cowboys , recording 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
However, he seems to be happy seeing his former team potentially do what he was unable to during his time in Pittsburgh — win a playoff game.
The Steelers traded Pickens to the Cowboys for a third-round pick in the offseason, and many have tabbed it as one of the worst in NFL history, given his production in Dallas.
"I think that trading George Pickens is probably going to go down as one of the worst deals in NFL history, and I mean that. I'm sorry to the Steelers. I just think it's true," Kay Adams said on the Up & Adams Show . "It is so clear. It is so glaringly obvious watching George Pickens last night, a day after Kenneth Gainwell led Pittsburgh in receiving against the Bengals , this is clearly a bad call by the Steelers."

However, winning is what matters in the NFL, and the Steelers are the team that finds itself in the dance.
Only time will tell if Pittsburgh will finally be able to end its postseason win drought, but still having a player like Pickens to pair with DK Metcalf in its pass attack would have certainly helped. Now all both sides can do is move on and do their best to not imagine what could have been.
Pickens was heavily criticized during his time with the Steelers for being a distraction on and off the field. That seems to have trickled with the Cowboys as well as he was benched to start one of their games earlier this year.
