The Georgia Bulldogs basketball program is at a crossroads after making back-to-back NCAA Tournaments. Coach Mike White and Georgia have three consecutive 20-win seasons and have built up a lot of positive momentum, but Georgia has back-to-back March Madness defeats and both of them came in blowout fashion.

Georgia has to reload again for the 2026-2027 season, but the Bulldogs be returning several of their top players from this past season. Georgia's leading scorer Jeremiah Wilkinson announced his plans to transfer after spending one season in Athens. The Bulldogs' top interior defender and dunk specialist Somto Cyril, an All-SEC defensive team selection, plans to transfer as does forward Dylan James, who was one of Georgia's rotation players. Guard Jordan Ross started in 25 games and plans to transfer too. Forward Jake Wilkins, the son of NBA and Georgia legend Dominique Wilkins, plans to transfer. Wilkins was part of Georgia's rotation and had some awesome dunks last season.

Georgia will return guards Marcus "Smurf" Millender and Blue Cain along with forwards Kanon Catchings and Kareem Stagg for the 2026-2027 season, which helps solidify the Bulldogs' roster a bit. Georgia doesn't have any key stay-or-go decisions left. Coach Mike White and Georgia are going to have to hit the portal hard to build next season's team.

Georgia will lose forward Justin Abson and guard Justin Bailey, who are out of eligibility.
