Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Daniel Harris ranks among the top 10 players planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal in the country. Harris is a three-star transfer and the No. 9 player in the country, per 247Sports. He announced his plans to transfer ahead of the SEC championship game. He will not be able to enter the transfer portal until it opens in January.
Harris is the No. 1 cornerback transfer as of Dec. 11, but that almost certainly will change. The transfer portal doesn't open until Jan. 2, and many more players who intend to transfer have not announced their plans.
Harris, a former four-star recruit, started the 2025 college football season as Georgia 's starting cornerback opposite of All-SEC pick Daylen Everette . Over the course of the season, Harris lost his starting role to Demello Jones and Ellis Robinson. Both have eligibility left. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior is an imposing physical presence on the outside, but he struggled to make plays on the ball over the past two seasons.
Harris has 30 career tackles, three pass deflections and no interceptions. He started four games for Georgia in 2024 and had 22 tackles, but he's had a significantly smaller role in 2025.
Harris attended Gulliver Prep and is from Miami, Florida. He appeared in eight games for Georgia in 2025. His most recent game was against the Charlotte 49ers . We don't expect Harris to contribute during Georgia's College Football Playoff run.
