Georgia Bulldogs running back Bo Walker will be out for the 2025 SEC championship game . Walker has played well in recent weeks, but will miss the Alabama game.
Walker reportedly was in a car accident and required surgery. It is unclear how long he will be out. Walker appeared in six games for Georgia this season.
Two weeks ago, Walker had a career day in Georgia's 35-3 win over Charlotte. He scored three touchdowns in the Dawgs' dominant win. Walker has 22 carries for 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns this season.
"Bo (Walker) is not going to be with us," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. "He was required to have a surgery. He'll be out for this game."
With Walker out, Georgia will have less running back depth against Alabama. The freshman running back was not likely to have a big role against the Crimson Tide.
Running backs Nate Frazier, Josh McCray, Cash Jones and Chauncey Bowens are expected to be Georgia's primary backs in the SEC championship. Bowens has been dealing with an injury and has not taken a carry since the Texas game.
"Chauncey (Bowens) has been like he has the last couple weeks," Smart said. "So he's been doing good."
Bowens began the season as Georgia's primary back with Nate Frazier. Bowens' role expanded in response to Frazier's fumbling issues early in the season. However, Frazier has outrushed Bowens in Georgia's last four games and is expected to be Georgia's top back against Alabama along with the bruising Josh McCray. Bowens had more than 100 yards in Georgia's first meeting with Alabama, but that is unlikely to happen again.
