Germany flop at home, Portugal beat Norway without CR7
Three matches wrapped up another day of the second round of the 2026/2027 UEFA Nations League group stage.
The highlight was something unprecedented: Greece's win over Germany .
And Portugal beating Norway in Oslo even without Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch.

Gonçalo Ramos and Nyland, Brazil 's tormentor at the last World Cup, were the main protagonists in Oslo.
🇳🇴 Norway 1 x 2 Portugal 🇵🇹
Most of the first half was an all-out exchange of blows.
Portugal were the first to make it count.
João Félix showed precision to beat Nyland, one of Brazil's "villains" at the World Cup (17').
Haaland 's mission was to beat Portugal's last line and then goalkeeper Diogo Costa .
Norway only started to take control from the 30th minute onward.
Nyland would become a key figure in the second half.
A "villain" for the Brazilian national team at the World Cup, he made two awful mistakes against Gonçalo Ramos.

Norway had just equalized through Haaland (51') when Nyland tried to play out from the back with Odegaard.
But the pass was short, Gonçalo Ramos was alert, and he chipped the goalkeeper to put Portugal back in front (54').
It took only five minutes for them to cross paths again on the pitch.
Nyland tried to get there before the Milan striker, but miskicked it. And he paid the price.
But VAR stepped in and confirmed an offside position.
The home side had more possession and attacking volume.
But they lacked efficiency.
CR7 was not used. He watched the victory from the bench.
On Thursday, October 1, Norway (three points) will visit Wales (zero).

And Portugal, top of the group with six, will be away to Denmark (three).
🇩🇪 Germany 0 x 1 Greece 🇬🇷
Germany took the field with nine of their ten outfield players being Black and/or from immigrant family backgrounds. Something unprecedented. Kimmich was the only exception.
Klopp's men dominated the first half.
Adeyemi stood out by wasting a good chance and forcing Tzolakis into a fine save.
Then came the second half, and with it a Germany side raising the tempo.
Tzolakis had to be at his best against chances from Conte and Kimmich.
Greece were not intimidated. And the result came in the 74th minute after Kourbelis got a deflection off Kimmich to celebrate in Augsburg.

Germany pushed forward. But they could not find a way through.
They remain on one point after two rounds, up against leaders Greece, who still have a perfect record despite not having played at home yet.
And they celebrate their first-ever win against the four-time world champions.
On Thursday, October 1, Germany will host Serbia (zero points). Greece, meanwhile, will face the Netherlands (four) in Thessaloniki.
🇮🇱 Israel 0 x 3 Ireland 🇮🇪
The buildup to this League B clash was marked by a possible boycott from part of the Ireland squad.
One of them really did refuse to play: goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu . That decision led to center-back Jimmy Dunne being registered in that position, as UEFA requires each national team to register three goalkeepers.

There was also an Irish protest during the moment when the Irish anthem was played in Debrecen, Hungary.
It did not take long after kickoff for Ireland to build a big advantage.
New Betis signing for this season, Parrott opened the scoring in the 13th minute.
Idah made it two in the 16th. And Moylan added the third in the 25th.
