The New York Giants play the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on FOX or stream it on FUBO with a free trial. According to Yahoo Sports , the broadcast team features Chris Myers on play-by-play and Jonathan Vilma as the analyst. This matchup matters because Washington won the last meeting 29-21 despite a late Giants rally. The data shows a clear pattern: Washington controls the clock and the line of scrimmage.
My model hates the Giants' ability to finish drives. Last season, Washington built a 15-point lead and never looked back. Kicker Jake Moody hit three field goals in the first half alone. He made shots from 46, 39, and 42 yards. The final kick of the half came after a punt return touchdown by Jaylin Lane. Lane took the ball 63 yards for a score. That play shifted the momentum before the Giants even had a chance to breathe. It is a boring but effective way to win.

The Broadcast Setup And Stream Options
Per Yahoo Sports, the game starts at 10 a.m. MST, which is 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. The venue is Northwest Stadium in Washington. Fans without cable can use FUBO to watch the action. The service offers a free trial for new users. This is the only way to see the game if you are not in the local market or lack a traditional TV package. Chris Myers calls the plays while Jonathan Vilma breaks down the defense. Their chemistry is solid, but they cannot fix the on-field product if the Giants stall.
The schedule for Week 5 includes many games, but this NFC East split is the main event for local fans. Washington finished the previous season with a 4-10 record while the Giants sat at 2-12. Those numbers hurt, but the divisional rivalry changes how players perform. The Commanders' offense moved the ball well against New York last time. A passer rating of 109.8 accompanied 211 yards thrown by Marcus Mariota. He also rushed for 43 yards on 10 carries. That dual threat kept the Giants' defense off balance.
Why The Last Loss Still Hurts
The statistics from the last meeting show why the Giants struggle. Washington's rushing leader was Jacory Croskey-Merritt with 96 yards gained on 18 carries. Terry McLaurin caught three passes for 69 yards. These are not huge numbers, but they were enough to win. The Giants could not stop the run or the deep shot. McLaurin scored on a 51-yard play when the Giants were down 22-14. That play killed any hope of a comeback. The final score was 29-21, but the game felt over by the third quarter.

Defense wins games, and Washington's secondary made a key play late in the first half. Mike Sainristil intercepted a pass from Jaxson Dart at his own 21-yard line. One tackle was broken before the return reached the Giants' 24-yard line. That set up the walk-off field goal by Moody. Sainristil's play was the difference between a close game and a blowout. The Giants need to protect the ball better if they want to win on Sunday. One mistake against this defense will cost them the game.
The Giants lost to Arizona 36-24 on Sunday, Oct. 4, at MetLife Stadium. That win was a good sign, but the Commanders present a different challenge. Washington has a faster pace and a better passing attack. The model projects a low-scoring affair if the Giants can stop the run. If they cannot, the score will look like the last game. The final score of 29-21 is a warning sign for the home team. They need to fix the third-down conversion rate or they will lose again.
