On Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft, speculation surged regarding Kayvon Thibodeaux 's future with the New York Giants . Insider Jordan Schultz reported that the New Orleans Saints were aggressively pursuing the 25-year-old edge rusher, indicating that the Giants were open to considering offers.

According to Schultz's sources, multiple franchises were monitoring the situation, with rumors of a potential blockbuster deal emerging as soon as Friday night.
However, the Giants' leadership promptly refuted this narrative. Jordan Raanan noted on X that General Manager Joe Schoen categorically denied the reports , stating that there is no truth to the trade discussions.
When directly questioned about the rumors, Schoen was straightforward, responding, "That's not true."
His firm dismissal indicates that the front office has no plans to part with their veteran pass rusher, despite the ongoing buzz on social media.

Head coach John Harbaugh reinforced this position in a recent exchange with Schoen, as reported by SNY.
He also concluded the discussion by asking his GM, "We keep all the good players as much as we can, right?" to which Schoen simply replied, "Yup."
His vision for the defense includes utilizing rookie Arvell Reese in a "positionless" role rather than as a direct replacement for Thibodeaux.
By deploying Reese at inside linebacker and WILL linebacker, the Giants aim to leverage his versatility while maintaining their veteran talent within an increasingly flexible and aggressive defensive scheme.
