The New York Giants lost star quarterback Jaxson Dart just two weeks into the new NFL season. The former Ole Miss star suffered a season-ending knee injury in New York's Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Dart underwent surgery to address a full meniscus tear in his left knee, along with damage to his MCL and PCL. He was given a four-to-six-month recovery timetable.
The Giants have fared well despite losing their starting quarterback. They won three out of their next five games after losing Dart. Veteran QB Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy have stepped in to fill the void Dart left. New York is currently first in the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record.
Wide receiver Malik Nabers has been the driving force behind the Giants' early-season success. The 23-year-old has returned to top form after missing most of the 2025 season with a right knee injury.
On Thursday, Nabers was announced as the NFC Offensive Player of the Month . He became the first wide receiver in franchise history to win the award. In four games played in October, Nabers caught 36 passes for 509 yards and two touchdowns. He registered at least 100 receiving yards in all four games, including a season-high 165 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 6.
Dart showed his support for his teammate by sharing the Giants' congratulatory post through an Instagram story. The injured QB had one word for Nabers.
"Skiiiiiđź’š" Dart wrote.
Nabers will look to keep the momentum going in their next game. The Giants are coming off a bye in Week 8. They return to action on Sunday for a road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kickoff from Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on Fox.
Nabers missed Thursday's practice with a knee issue but said he expects to play Sunday.
