The Giants opened camp with Thomas Fidone II, Sam Roberts and Roy Robertson-Harris on the active/PUP list. Fidone is the one that makes the early tight end picture a little uncomfortable.
Thomas Fidone II can return from active/PUP during camp, so this is not a season-ending warning. Still, missing practice time at the start of a new staff's first camp is not ideal for a player trying to carve out a role in a crowded room.

The Giants can be patient, but not forever
Fidone's skill set is useful. He has enough size to work the middle of the field and enough athleticism to be more than a pure in-line blocker. The Giants have wanted their tight ends to matter in the passing game, which makes every missed rep relevant.
The good news is the club does not have to make an immediate call. Active/PUP is different from the reserve list, and the Giants can let him work on the side while the rest of camp gets moving.
I would not turn this into a big injury scare. I would watch the timeline, though. The early camp reps are where young players earn trust, and Fidone cannot afford to spend too much of that window standing next to the trainers.
