Manchester City will play their first preseason friendly later today when they take on Inter Milan at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. The match will be the first opportunity to see Enzo Maresca's side in action. Due to the amount of senior players who remain on holiday after their participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, today's match and Manchester City's preseason tour of Asia are opportunities for City's young players to impress . One of those, dynamic young winger Ryan McAidoo , is eager to make an impression if the opportunity arrives against Inter Milan.
Speaking yesterday with mancity.com , Ryan McAidoo revealed that he, and Manchester City's other academy players are excited by the opportunity ahead of them during Manchester City's preseason tour of Asia. Also, McAidoo revealed that playing against such a formidable opponent like Inter Milan is a dream opportunity.
Listening to McAidoo speak, it is clear that he is eager to make an impression against the Serie A champions and throughout Manchester City's preseason matches. The young winger explained: " We are all talented academy players in different ways and the older players have helped us a lot to keep up with the intensity and do the right things on and off the pitch. We are so grateful to them. "
" As young players you all want to play in the highest level of games, it's what we dream of. So hopefully we all get our opportunity to show what we can do against Inter. "
The opportunity is there for Ryan McAidoo, or the other City academy players, to make an impression across the preseason tour of Asia. Players like McAidoo, Divine Mukasa , Claudio Echeverri , Stephen Mfuni , Max Alleyne , Vitor Reis , Xavier Parker, Jaden Heskey , and Mahamadou Sangare will be afforded opportunities to play by Enzo Maresca. It will be up to them to seize them and show what they capable of playing alongside their experienced teammates.
Ryan McAidoo comes across as eager to impress in his interview with Manchester City's official website. The young winger is ready to play a higher level than Manchester City's EDS side. That has been apparent for some time.
Perhaps if McAidoo impresses in Asia, starting tonight against Inter Milan, he can put his foot forward to play a role for Enzo Maresca this upcoming season. There is room in the Manchester City squad for a player such as Ryan McAidoo. City need a right winger and McAidoo looks ready to take the next step. That challenge and potential reward is in front of Ryan McAidoo and City's other young attacking players.
Ryan McAidoo, like Manchester City's other youngsters on their Asia tour, is excited by the opportunity ahead of him. He is all potentially good enough to fill a role in Enzo Maresca's squad. It will be interesting to see if any of them can do so beginning today against Inter Milan. Judging by McAidoo's comments, he is keen to put his best foot forward.
