Lukas Ullrich committed his future to Borussia Mönchengladbach with an early extension of his contract. The 21-year-old defender signed a contract extension until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Gladbach signed the left-back from Hertha Berlin as a free agent ahead of the 2023/24 season. He had a breakthrough season last term, but Eugen Polanski preferred Luca Netz since taking over the helm.
"Lukas (Ullrich) is now in his third season with us and has made good progress," said Head of Sports Rouven Schröder. "We're convinced of his ability and expect him to continue taking positive steps, both as a player and as a person. We're delighted that he also sees his future here with us."
"I still have a lot I want to achieve at Borussia, and I'm grateful for the last two and a half years," said the Germany U21 international. "I'm not finished here yet, and I'm really looking forward to what lies ahead."
Gladbach beat Bayern Munich to sign Ullrich when the then-19-year-old was a free agent after leaving Hertha Berlin. Tottenham Hotspur are linked with his competitor to replace Destiny Udogie .
