- Green Bay Packers target former Patriots DT after devastating Javon Hargrave blow
The G reen Bay Packers obliterated the Chicago Bears in Week. Despite the convincing win, Green Bay still faces concerns along the defensive and offensive lines, with Micah Parsons' recovery update and Javon Hargrave's season ending injury adding to the team's challenges.
Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers are reportedly exploring ways to shore up their roster, with NFL insider Jordan Schultz identifying a potential new addition for the team.
"The Packers, after losing DT Javon Hargrave to a torn Achilles on Sunday, had former Patriots DT Isaiah Iton for a workout today and had him take a physical, per source. Green Bay is scanning the market for DT help," Jordan Schulz wrote in his post on X (formerly Twitter).

Iton attended Rutgers before going undrafted in 2024. He later joined the Tennessee Titans' practice squad, then moved to the New England Patriots before the team released him. The Patriots signed him in July, but waived him with an injury designation in September.
Chicago struggled to generate any offense against the Green Bay Packers, managing just 246 total yards and one touchdown in a 31-7 Week 5 loss. The lopsided result fueled the belief that Matt LaFleur wanted to make a statement against Ben Johnson's team. Lukas Van Ness helped anchor a relentless defensive effort alongside other players in Jonathan Gannon's unit , as Green Bay displayed a renewed edge reminiscent of its more successful seasons.

The Packers face the Dallas Cowboys at home in Week 6 before traveling to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 7. The road matchup could pose a tough test for Green Bay, especially after Detroit's victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.
