The Milwaukee Brewers faced a difficult situation during the sixth inning of Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.
Abner Uribe, who had dominated during his first six postseason appearances, struggled to throw strikes. The Los Angeles Dodgers capitalized with a two-run double that gave them a 2-1 lead.

Manager Pat Murphy removed the struggling right-hander and turned to left-hander DL Hall .
The Dodgers announced Josue DePaula as a pinch-hitter for Andy Pages, prompting Murphy to summon Hall from the bullpen.
Hall saves Brewers again
Hall escaped the inning emphatically by striking out Kiké Hernández and Tommy Edman to prevent further damage.
Those two strikeouts accounted for +12.9% in win probability added, according to the Statcast Game Feed. They also generated the energy Milwaukee needed to retake the lead during the following half-inning.
The moment proved decisive.
Milwaukee's offense immediately supported Hall and Uribe with two of the greatest plate appearances in postseason history.

Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell hit consecutive home runs against Dodgers starter Blake Snell, who had pitched extremely well through six innings.
The home runs returned the lead to Milwaukee, putting the Brewers ahead 4-2 and draining the energy from the Dodgers and their fans.
Los Angeles had taken four leads during the series, but the sixth inning marked the third consecutive time Milwaukee erased one during the next half-inning.
Murphy kept Hall in the game after the Brewers moved ahead.
The left-hander delivered his best performance with Milwaukee, holding Los Angeles scoreless in 2.1 innings with two strikeouts and no walks.

Hall's only blemish was a sharply hit single by Shohei Ohtani during the eighth inning, which ended his appearance.
His performance helped the Brewers secure an important Game 3 victory over the Dodgers.
The left-hander became Milwaukee's all-time postseason wins leader by earning his third victory of this postseason. He has thrown 5.1 scoreless innings with an 0.75 WHIP in four appearances.
Hall's career in Milwaukee has included several highs and lows.
He and infielder Joey Ortiz were the two players the Brewers acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in the Corbin Burnes trade before the 2024 season. Both delivered significant contributions during Game 3.

The road ahead
Milwaukee can finish the series against Los Angeles after taking a commanding lead in the National League Championship Series. The Brewers have a strong opportunity to close it out on the road.
Accomplishing that would represent tremendous redemption after Milwaukee was swept comfortably during last year's National League Championship Series.
Eliminating the Dodgers one year later would complete one of the most impressive postseason turnarounds.
Hall showed why Murphy trusted him in the game's most dangerous moment. He entered with little margin for error, attacked immediately and prevented the inning from growing.

His ability to remain composed allowed Milwaukee to regain control. Hall did not merely protect the Brewers from further damage. He changed the game's direction and gave the offense the opening it needed.
