Harry Souttar possesses a proverbial 'get out of Leicester City jail free card', afforded to him by the ever-discerning Blue Army fan base. This reprieve stems from a simple, shielding truth: the towering Australia international remained largely insulated from the harrowing performance-side failures of consecutive relegations that have plunged the club into a chilling darkness.
While the Foxes plummeted down divisions, Souttar was a bystander to the ignominy. Atrocious management, both presiding in the boardroom and patrolling the touchline, alongside disastrous displays from the established squad, have seen the once-proud East Midlanders hollowed out into a mere shell of their former selves.

Given the grave situation the LE2 outfit inhabits, a mass exodus on Filbert Way this summer appears not merely likely, but inevitable. A fire-sale is mandated by the lowly LCFC ledger.
Most notable assets will be liquidated or released, contracts determinant, while even certain peripheral figures are destined to be pawned to balance the books. Amidst this upheaval, a sparse few professionals will remain; likely a mixture of those lacking the ferocious ambition for a higher echelon, such as Luke Thomas, and those requiring a sanctuary to rebuild: Harry Souttar's name rings a bell in the latter category.
Will Harry Souttar remain at Leicester City next season?
Though the 27-year-old retains significant value as a competent EFL Championship performer and a sophisticated 'Aussie baller', top-tier suitors may hesitate to gamble on a profile currently shrouded in uncertainty. Although a standout tournament with his nation could yet ignite external demand, the current atmosphere potentially suggests a different trajectory.
I was just so buzzing to be back on the park, so buzzing to be playing again. The concentration was just to play my normal game. It doesn't matter how long you've been out. Just do what you do best... it was just so nice to be back on the pitch, just to have that feeling after the game. I just feel like part of the team again.
Souttar appears genuinely settled within King Power Stadium's confines ; possibly content to anchor the rebuilding process. His recent interview hints at an arguable willingness to forgo the exit ramp, opting instead to spearhead the resurrection of a fallen organisation rather than seeking pastures new. Time will tell.
