Health director from Nico Harrison era fired by Mavericks after 2 seasons appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
On Sunday evening, the Dallas Mavericks wrapped up their 2025-26 season with a home win over the Chicago Bulls . Cooper Flagg left this one after just 10 minutes when he suffered an injury, but it was still a positive way to go out for what was overall a frustrating season in Dallas.
The Mavericks' biggest move of this year, outside of trading Anthony Davis , was firing the man who brought him to Dallas, general manager Nico Harrison . Now, the Mavericks are busy getting rid of any vestiges of the Harrison tenure in Dallas.
"The Mavericks have parted ways with director of health and performance Johann Bilsborough, sources told ESPN," reported Tim MacMahon of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
Bilsborough was a part of the Mavericks' organization for the last two seasons. Dallas was not exactly a picture of health this year, as numerous players missed extended time, including Dereck Lively II , and Davis when he was still a member of the team, along with Kyrie Irving , who missed the entire season due to an ACL injury suffered in 2025.
The Mavericks will now turn their attention to the upcoming NBA Draft lottery, where they will hope for some more good fortune after lucking into the number one pick last year, where Harrison thankfully didn't try to overthink drafting Flagg.
If Dallas can add another young blue-chip talent to the mix this June, they could be an intriguing team in the Western Conference next year, especially with Irving back from injury, and with a new director of health and performance at the controls.
In any case, the NBA Draft lottery is set to take place on May 10 in Chicago.
