- Hoosiers Daily News: Amare Ferrell and the Drench Gang take over Indiana

Everything is purple now.
The "Drench Gang" moniker has taken over the Indiana sports internet this week as the Hoosiers are set to host Minnesota this weekend for homecoming. Just about every fan account across social platforms has changed its hue to purple, the color or the moniker's chosen emoji, this week.
The name originates from Indiana safety Amare Ferrell, who explained this week that the nickname comes from the 2025 season, specifically among the Hoosiers' defensive backs. It's a defensive back's job to cover, Ferrell said, with the group replacing "covering" with "drenching," something he claimed credit for.
