The UNC basketball team , after an unsteady start to ACC play which included three consecutive road losses, is finally playing up to its heightened preseason expectations.
North Carolina (16-4, 4-3 ACC) entered Saturday's game at Georgia Tech with two consecutive wins: a 91-69 drubbing of Notre Dame in Chapel Hill, followed by a come-from-behind, 85-80 road upset of Virginia last weekend.

As the Tar Heels progress deeper into ACC play, head coach Hubert Davis recently showed his players a clip for season-long motivation, according to WCHL/Chapelboro's Michael Koh.
"It's hard – good God," former UNC quarterback Drake Maye said late in the New England Patriots ' 10-6, AFC Championship victory over the Denver Broncos .
"Look at me, it's gonna be hard, but look, this will be six-and-a-half minutes of our lives if we can get it done," Maye's offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, replied.
Next weekend will be a massive one for North Carolina sports. The Tar Heels will host Duke on Saturday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET for first of two Tobacco Road rivalry matchups, a game which will have massive implications in the ACC standings.
The next day, Maye's Patriots will battle the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60. This will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, when New England cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted Russell Wilson at the goal line, to seal a victory on the most head-scratching playcall in Super Bowl history.

UNC still sports the country's best frontcourt duo of Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar , while Derek Dixon and Seth Trimble lead a backcourt that is finding its footing at the perfect time.
North Carolina will host Syracuse on Monday, followed by its archrival next weekend, then travel to Miami (FL) before hosting Pitt on Valentine's Day. Can the Tar Heels position themselves to win their first ACC Tournament since 2016, or more importantly, their first National Championship since 2017?
