Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner is effectively "writing his own obituary" with his recent comments after the defeat to Brentford last weekend.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that Glasner is facing pressure far quicker than he expected at the City Ground.
The Austrian suggested after the defeat to Brentford that another change of manager would not help the club's issues, and seemed to point the finger at both the players and the decision-makers at the club.
Wyness believes that the former Crystal Palace boss is walking a tightrope by publicly saying things like that, although he still feels that he deserves more time to steady the ship.
Forest are already in the relegation zone, having won just one of their opening nine Premier League games, and scoring just six league goals so far.
They have the daunting prospect of a game against Manchester City on the horizon this weekend, ahead of the upcoming November international break.
Oliver Glasner issues 'coming to a head'
Everton's former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the anticipated issues between Glasner and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis are already "coming to a head."
Tensions are high at the City Ground, and Glasner's outspoken nature already appears to be landing him in hot water at his new club.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast , Wyness explained why Glasner's comments have created unnecessary issues for him.
"I think he's writing his own obituary already, and I was amazed it's come so quickly," he said.
"Look, we flagged a while ago that the two fiery characters of Glasner and Marinakis were never going to be a great mix, and it's coming to a head pretty quickly, isn't it?
"Quicker than I expected and it's a tough one to watch from the outside. I'd hate to think what it's like on the inside right now at Forest.
"Look, if Marinakis has got any sense, he'll stick with Glasner, and he'll let him try and fix things. But it's certainly one that is right on the radar, and only wins on the pitch can stop that from breaking up and erupting even further."
Oliver Glasner 'thrown under the bus' as Nottingham Forest stars slammed - expert Glasner 'thrown under bus' by Nottingham Forest squad
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insiderthat Glasner is being "thrown under the bus" by the Forest squad at the moment.
The ex-recruitment boss pointed to the fact that this same group of players have already managed to get four managers sacked within the last 12 months.
Brown believes that the squad are not giving Glasner enough right now, and feels that the boss has taken a big risk by calling them out publicly.
Brown feels that Forest's players while either now rally behind their manager, or begin to sulk, which will put the writing on the wall in terms of his future.
