- "I'm Really Enjoying It" - Elliot Anderson Reflects on Start to Manchester City Career After £116 Million Move

Elliot Anderson has seamlessly integrated into the Manchester City first-team ranks.
Anderson, 23, joined City from Nottingham Forest in July, in a deal that briefly broke the British transfer record and was finalised on a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
The England international came through the youth ranks at Newcastle United , where he made 55 appearances for the first-team, before joining Nottingham Forest in July 2024 and playing 92 times for the club across two seasons at the City Ground.
Anderson earned his senior England debut in September 2025 under head coach Thomas Tuchel and was a crucial part of the Three Lions side at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where England finished third after a semi-final defeat to Argentina.
The 23-year-old has been one of Enzo Maresca's most regular midfielders since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, with the manager taking charge of Manchester City in June as the successor to Pep Guardiola.
Speaking to Manchester City's official channels for the club's November magazine, Anderson evaluated his strong start to life at the Etihad Stadium.
"It's gone well so far, I think. Obviously, performances help you settle in," the midfielder said. That plus training where the lads have been brilliant with me.
"There's been a lot of change over the summer for the club, so everyone's kind of in the same boat. I'd never really stayed in the city [Manchester] previously, and I'm obviously loving it. I'm really enjoying it."
Anderson scored his first Manchester City goal in the 12th minute of the 5-1 UEFA Champions League win over AEK Athens at the Etihad Stadium in October, finishing from a rebound after Enzo Fernandez's free-kick had struck the crossbar.
The 23-year-old has formed a central midfield partnership with Fernandez in Maresca's biggest games, with the pair having started together in the recent defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa - as well as Saturday's 1-0 Premier League loss to Brighton and Hove Albion .
The England international was among five players given three days off following the trip to Villa Park, missing the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Brighton that Manchester City won on penalties, before returning to the starting line-up on Saturday.
Anderson arrived at the Etihad Stadium alongside Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £86 million, Fernandez from Chelsea for a reported £125 million, and winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, as director of football Hugo Viana oversaw a comprehensive remake of the first-team ranks upon Guardiola's exit.
The summer also brought Jeremy Monga, Allan Elias and Geronimo Rulli to Manchester City, whilst Rodri left for Barcelona and Bernardo Silva joined Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The arrivals have come against the backdrop of an independent commission's guilty verdict on 114 of 115 charges relating to breaches of the Premier League's financial rules, with Manchester City declaring their innocence and lodging a comprehensive appeal .
The 23-year-old could soon add to his England caps in the November international break, with Thomas Tuchel's side having fixtures against Serbia and Albania scheduled for the latter part of the month.
Manchester City travel to Germany on Tuesday to face RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday - before visiting Anderson's former club Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this weekend.
