In the modern NFL, high roster turnover often fragments quarterback rooms as players sign with new teams. Yet for the signal-callers who once navigated the high-pressure environment of being on the Pittsburgh Steelers together, the bond forged in the team's facility remains as strong as ever.
Appearing on teammate Cameron Heyward 's podcast, " Not Just Football with Cam Heyward ," Steelers backup quarterback Mason Rudolph revealed that despite career paths taking them to different organizations, he stays in constant contact with former Pittsburgh starters Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky .

When Heyward asked Rudolph to rank his top teammates of all time, Rudolph bypassed standard positional rivalries and immediately named his former quarterback room companions.
"I love Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky," Rudolph said. "We still talk. We got a phenomenal group chat. It's always firing off."
The trio shared the Pittsburgh locker room during a crucial transitional era for the franchise. Rather than letting competition create friction, the quarterbacks developed a genuine brotherhood anchored by shared experiences and locker room humor. According to Rudolph, Trubisky serves as the primary comedic spark in their daily digital exchanges.

"Mitch is hilarious," Rudolph added with a laugh. "Mitch and the 'deez nuts' jokes, unbelievable. He's one of the funniest teammates I've ever had."
For Steelers fans who watched the quarterback competition unfold on the field, Rudolph's revelation provides a unique glimpse into the unseen dynamics of an NFL locker room.
Beyond the external noise, depth chart battles, and trades, the ex-Steelers quarterback group chat proves that the mutual respect and camaraderie established under the Black and Gold banner endure long after players change uniforms.
