- Insider hints at bad news for Steelers’ Broderick Jones
One of the Pittsburgh Steelers ' biggest offseason decisions — whether or not to pick up offensive tackle Broderick Jones 's fifth-year option — may be more straightforward than originally believed, according to one prominent insider.
On Wednesday's edition of 93.7 The Fan, insider Mark Kaboly claimed the Steelers wouldn't pick up Jones' fifth-year option this upcoming offseason.

"I think that decision's been made. No, absolutely not. I don't think they pick up Broderick Jones ," Kaboly said . "It's been four or five straight years, four years, that they haven't picked up an option."
Selected with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Jones has had his fair share of struggles during his first three years with Pittsburgh.
Appearing in 45 games and making 38 starts at both left and right tackle, Jones will likely head into the 2026 season without a fifth-year option, needing a strong performance in Year 4 to earn a solid contract extension with Pittsburgh after left tackle Dylan Cook has emerged as a starting option over the past several games.
