Iowa's bench has been the story tonight. Jaidyn Coon, Trevin Jirak, and Ty'Reek Coleman have each shown up in their own ways. That trio has combined for 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists in this game to help Iowa pull away in the second half. It seems like the Hawkeyes are going to lean heavily on their depth, especially early in the season. That's looking like a good bet right now.

Depth has been the name of the game tonight. Nine different players have scored for the Hawkeyes, while no one has reached double figures yet. Iowa is starting to pull away now. Jaidyn Coon has been Iowa's best player tonight. The four-star first-year is doing it on both ends of the court in this game. He has nine points, four rebounds, and a block off the bench. Ben McCollum chose to insert him into the second-half starting lineup, and it paid dividends. The Hawkeyes' defense set the tone early, and the offense is finally coming around. It hasn't been pretty, but things are beginning to come together now.

It's been a sloppy start to the second half for Iowa's offense. They've mustered just three points on only one field goal made. The defense has been flying around, forcing turnovers and tough shots out of Lipscomb. If the offense can find a rhythm at some point, the Hawkeyes will be in a good spot.

Iowa ended the half on a 12-2 run to get some breathing room. The Hawkeyes shot 43% from the field and 29% from three in the first half. Iowa is paced by nine points from Cooper Koch and 21 total points from the bench.

Ty'Reek Coleman hit a pair of free throws to give Iowa the lead again, but this has been a first half to forget for the home team. Outside of a few dunks from Jaidyn Coon, the Hawkeyes have looked a little flat in this half. Eight different players have scored, with Cooper Koch's six points leading the way. Iowa will look to take some momentum into the locker room with a late push.

Lipscomb is on a 13-0 run as Ben McCollum calls a timeout. The Hawkeyes are playing sloppily, and the Bisons have taken advantage to grab their first lead of the game. Iowa needs to find a rhythm soon.
