After a shocking entrance to the transfer portal, Koen Entringer, the Iowa Hawkeyes safety and team captain, has landed at his new home in the Power Four.
The move for Entringer to enter the transfer portal came as a shocking development to the Iowa Hawkeyes , as he had been debating whether to pursue the NFL or return to Iowa , but ultimately ended up at another program.
Koen Entringer, after a short time in the transfer portal, has committed to the Louisville Cardinals of the ACC, as reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Koen Entringer earned recognition this past season as an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention from the coaches while posting a career-best 73 total tackles, with 3.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and four pass breakups. During his time at Iowa, he appeared in 43 games, tallying 100 total tackles and an interception.
The 6-foot-1 product of Walled Lake Western High School and Ypsilanti, Michigan, joined Iowa as part of the class of 2022 as a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 15 player in the state of Michigan and the No. 40 overall athlete in the class, per 247Sports.
Coming out of high school, Entringer held offers from Wisconsin, Boston College, Central Michigan, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Syracuse, Utah, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Temple, and Tulane.
The Hawkeyes have been hitting the portal hard to replace the safety position, though. Iowa has already added James Madison safety Tony Brown and Villanova safety Anthony Hawkins.
