Ipswich Town XI vs Manchester City – Predicted lineup and team news
Ipswich Town visit Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, on nine points from six league games in their first season back in the Premier League.
Gary O'Neil's side beat Fulham 2-1 last Saturday after trailing with two minutes of normal time left, with Abdoul Ouattara equalising and captain Dara O'Shea scoring in the 92nd minute. They have conceded 12 goals in six league games and have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 25 Premier League matches. Ipswich have not won away at City in the top flight since November 2000, and lost 4-1 at the Etihad and 6-0 at home in the 2024-25 meetings. Ipswich have won three of their six league games, beating Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Ipswich Town team news
Ipswich have no reported injury or fitness concerns. Abdul Fatawu is available after serving a one-match suspension and could return on the right flank in place of Daizen Maeda. Jaden Philogene is at risk of losing his place on the left to Jack Clarke.
Exequiel Palacios could replace Florentino Luis in midfield alongside Sasa Lukic, who started against Fulham, with Julio Enciso expected to continue in an advanced central role. Christian Walton is in line for a third consecutive league start in goal ahead of Kjell Scherpen. O'Neil may use a five-man defence for the first time this season, but is more likely to keep a back four of Ouattara, O'Shea, Issa Diop and Leif Davis. Emersonn remains the first-choice centre-forward.
