Kevin Love , who is a former teammate of LeBron James , decided to anger Toronto Raptors fans by using his name at Kyle Lowry 's block party.
Lowry is set to have his jersey retired by the Raptors on January 10, 2027. The team decided to throw a free block party for fans to celebrate his career.
After spending the first six years of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Houston Rockets , Lowry moved to the Raptors in 2012. From then on, he never looked back and went on to become an all-time great with the franchise.
He was signed by the franchise on a one-day deal so that he could retire as a Raptor.
To celebrate his career, Lowry had some of his friends and former teammates with him, and one among them was Kevin Love.
However, the 2016 NBA champion decided to take a dig at the city of Toronto by adding LeBron James' name with it.
Love teases Raptors fans
Love was handed the mic during the event, and it was expected that he would speak on how important Lowry has been to the city of Toronto.
But Love decided to take another route and said, "This is Kyle's day, but isn't this LeBronto."
This led to loud boos from the crowd, while Lowry, who was on the custom championship bus broke into laughter.
Love later said that he was joking, but the comment he made has a lot of context.
During Lowry's best years with the Raptors, LeBron James was one of the team's biggest obstacles.
The four-time NBA champion won three straight years in the playoffs against the Raptors, with a 12-2 record.
He swept the team in 2017 and 2018, with the LeBronto name catching fire in 2018 when his Cavaliers were comfortably sweeping the Raptors.
In 14 playoff games against the Raptors, James averages 31.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists. This indicates why the Raptors fans were not pleased with Love's mocking.
