A viral prankster thought he could troll Bam Adebayo by mistaking him for rapper 2 Chainz, but he clearly didn't account for A'ja Wilson.
A'ja Wilson put together an incredible year, running away with the MVP award behind averages of nearly 27 points, 12 boards, and a couple of blocks a game for the Aces.
But her season had plenty of edge. Things boiled over during a tense clash against the Indiana Fever, where Wilson picked up a technical foul after exchanging words with a fan sitting courtside. She didn't bite her tongue afterward either, calling out the spectator for getting up in her face and making sure everyone knew she wasn't about to let anyone cross that line.
And Wilson will be even more sick of fans after her latest interaction in public.
The viral video kicked off when comedian and prankster Gerald Huston spotted Bam Adebayo and A'ja Wilson walking together and decided to approach.
Huston jogged up with his camera rolling, loudly mistaking Bam for rapper 2 Chainz and hyping him up like an overzealous fan. Adebayo just smiled and shook his head, but Wilson wasn't having it. She immediately stepped in front, eyes locked, looking completely ready to square up and handle business.
As you can imagine, fans had a lot to say online.
This fan started: "It's crazy how she fell back like that."
"A'ja is so animated." One fan noticed.
A'ja got some love from this supporter: "Aja Wilson is really the funniest person without trying."
"She don't play." Another fan added.
Lastly, this fan noticed her immediate reaction: "A'ja looked ready to handle that."
With how unhinged some fan encounters have gotten around the WNBA lately, nobody can fault A'ja for keeping her guard up. If some random guy comes coming right at you on the sidewalk with his phone out, squaring up isn't being dramatic, it's just basic street smarts.
