Jacob Rodriguez's Strengths
A natural playmaker who always manages to find the ball, Rodriguez makes splash plays that can quickly change the momentum of the game. His background as a high school quarterback shines through in the way he understands offensive concepts and how they're trying to attack the defense, and he has the range to make sure his body lines up with his mind. He plays with his hair on fire, bringing a ton of physicality and effort to every rep, and arriving at the ball carrier with violence. He brings that same energy and playmaking ability when he gets after the quarterback, beating running backs at the point of attack and surprising offensive linemen with his strength. He's got powerful hands in the run game, with the ability to shed blocks and get free to make tackles. Rodriguez is a team captain who brings valuable leadership skills to the table.

Jacob Rodriguez's Weaknesses
Rodriguez needs to clean up his technique as a tackler, as his penchant for trying to land the big hit can lead to ball carriers bouncing off contact or otherwise escaping what should have been a simple stop. His gap discipline can be inconsistent at times, as his attempts to chase big plays can betray his fundamentals. His play speed is impressive when flowing downhill, but he can be challenged by speedy running backs on wheel routes, or athletic tight ends flying up the seams.
Final Analysis
He'll need to make some technical adjustments and play with more discipline at the next level, but you can't argue with the production and his knack for making big plays when the ball gets anywhere near him. Throw in his energy, effort, and leadership skills, and you've got a recipe for a complete player who can rally the entire team and change the game with his clutch performances.
