The Jacksonville Jaguars are preparing for the NFL Draft, like every other team in the league, and while it's assumed the Jags will prioritize the defense, there are some question marks at running back.
While Travis Etienne had another fantastic season, he also could be on his way out the door, leaving Bhayshul Tuten to presumably take his spot as RB1.
It wouldn't be the craziest thing, then, if Jacksonville ended up drafting another running back to bolster the unit. And Tuten himself had some sage advice to this year's draft class on how to prepare to transition from college into the NFL.
ESPN interviewed the 2025 rookie class on what their advice is for this year's incoming rookies, and Tuten was one of the players featured.
Drafted in the fourth round, Tuten ended up being a surprise star, racking up 83 carries for 307 yards and five touchdowns. He proved that he is ready to be a reliable RB2, or even potentially take over from Etienne as RB1. Advice coming from him, then, should be heeded, and his was simple: take care of your body, pointing out that this will be a very long process.
"You go from training for combine, then you got pro days and then you got 30 visits and then you got rookie minicamp. Then you go straight into OTAs and stuff like that," he said. "It's going to be a long year. So take care of your body, stay in shape. Especially taking 30 visits, you want to work out, you want to run and keep your conditioning up. Once you hit rookie minicamp, it's rock and rolling from there.
"So once you get here, you're already beat. I think taking care of your body is the biggest thing because it's going to be a long year. I think once you take care of your body and you just do everything right, keep working out, stay in condition, it'll make it pretty easy for you."
Liam Coen has praised Tuten's work ethic, and despite having a finger injury late in the season, he's still predicted to have a breakout sophomore year. Tuten can easily serve as a model for incoming rookies to emulate, making his advice all the more important to follow.
Currently, the Jaguars are reportedly interested in North Carolina Central running back Chris Mosley, who just rushed for 1,000 yards in his last season.
Mosley would not only give depth to the Jaguars' running back room, but he would have a great mentor in Tuten. They are both known for their speed and physicality, which is likely why multiple teams are interested in Mosley. But Tuten could be what ends up giving Mosley the edge with the Jaguars. The two of them, together with LeQuint Allen , could make Jacksonville's run game a pretty exciting sight to see in 2026.
