According to Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars and Matiscik have agreed to a two-year extension worth $3.8 million in new money. Matiscik is now the NFL's highest-paid long-snapper and is signed through the 2028 season.
Matiscik is a three-time Pro Bowler and a two-time first-team All-Pro.
Last season, Matiscik ranked tied for third among long-snappers in tackles, not to mention that he sets the table for punter Logan Cooke and kicker Cam Little , and the success those two have had.
GM James Gladstone had this to say after the extension became official:
"Ross' consistency and ability to get down the field and make plays on special teams gives us an edge in that phase of the game," said Gladstone , via the team site . "He has played at an elite level for several seasons and is at the top of the league at what he does."
