Jameis Winston's World Cup run as a fan-facing personality has already produced one viral moment, and Argentina vs Algeria gave him another before the match even settled into its rhythm.
The former No. 1 NFL Draft pick has fully embraced the tournament atmosphere, moving between stadium traditions and fan scenes with the same energy that made him a cult figure in American football.
Kansas City's build-up to Argentina's opener gave him the perfect stage for a Messi-themed gag that was impossible to miss.
With the game still live at the time of writing, Winston's pre-match moment is already part of the wider spectacle around Argentina's first step in Group J.

In a video shared by Katie Maher on X , Winston was seen at Kansas City's Power & Light District with a goat dressed in a Messi jersey ahead of the match.
The joke needed no explanation. Messi has long been at the center of the GOAT debate, and turning that argument into a live fan scene before a World Cup opener was an easy hit.
At the time of writing, the match is still in progress, with Lionel Messi scoring a brace to put Argentina in a firm 2-0 lead over Algeria.
That uncertainty is part of the live-match setting, but Winston's entrance has already delivered one of the most memorable moments from the build-up. It was loud, simple and built perfectly for social media.
Winston's sudden World Cup visibility did not start with the Messi goat. He had already gone viral after joining Japanese fans in their tradition of cleaning up the stadium following Japan's 2-2 draw with the Netherlands in Dallas.
The gesture spread quickly because Japanese supporters are known for leaving their sections tidy after major soccer matches.
Winston is working around the tournament as part of FOX Sports' coverage, and his role has quickly become less formal analyst and more roaming personality. He has joined fan groups, leaned into local scenes and turned small cultural moments into clips that travel beyond the matches themselves.
That is why the goat stunt fit. Winston is not just appearing at World Cup games, he is becoming part of the surrounding carnival, from helping with a post-match cleanup to carrying a Messi tribute through Kansas City.
