The Baltimore Ravens reunited head coach Jesse Minter with one of his former Michigan defenders Wednesday, signing inside linebacker Michael Barrett while placing center Danny Pinter on season-ending injured reserve.
Barrett played for Minter during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and started all 15 games during Michigan's national championship run, finishing his final season with 65 tackles and three sacks. Barrett was then drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he was subsequently traded to the Seattle Seahawks during the preseason. Barrett has spent time with the Seahawks, Browns , Packers , and Raiders , while getting the bulk of his professional playing time in the United Football League, logging 10 tackles and one sack for the St. Louis Battlehawks this past spring.
Pinter suffered a torn patellar tendon during Baltimore's joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings , officially ending a season in which he had emerged as a leading candidate to start at center.
