Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow opened up about the team's offense this season, primarily about who will be the team's biggest weapon other than Ja'Marr Chase.
Everyone knows that the Bengals' most potent scoring threat is Chase, who is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and has the perfect connection with team QB Burrow.
If everyone knows that Chase is who they need to stop to make the Bengals struggle, the QB needs to have other options ready to target in case their star WR is covered off. Thankfully, Burrow has already done that.
Burrow spoke to the media and was asked about the team's offensive strategy this season, with the QB admitting that the focus will always be Ja'Marr, but RB Chase Brown is a close second for him.
"Obviously, we're going to get the ball in (Ja'Marr Chase)'s hands as many times as we can. But I think a close second is Chase Brown, just because of how explosive he is and the things he can do with the ball in his hands."
Brown will be RB1 for the Bengals, which might be why Burrow's response focused on highlighting a star in his role instead of WR2 Higgins.

Ja'Marr had 1,412 receiving yards and eight TDs last season while Higgins had 846 receiving yards and 0 TDs in 15 appearances.
Brown played all 17 games, rushing for 1,019 yards and converting six rushing TDs. He also had 437 receiving yards and five receiving TDs, proving Brown needs to be a bigger focus than Higgins.
If Burrow cannot find an open look for Ja'Marr, he still likely will throw it to Higgins if an open opportunity can be created. However, if Burrow misses time again, the Bengals will need to rely on Brown to make up yards that their backup QB cannot.
Higgins struggled mightily last season when Burrow was not on the field. With Ja'Marr's status being untouchable and Chase emerging as an RB star who the Bengals need to feed, the 27-year-old Higgins might start falling out of favor.
Nonetheless, the combination of three weapons like these for Burrow and the Bengals makes it clear that a fun season is ahead for everyone involved. Maybe not Higgins if he finds himself on the margins of production.
