🚨 Jordan FA president accuses FIFA of blackmail!
New controversy surrounding FIFA.
Since the Times revealed the FFE project led by Gianni Infantino, which planned to create a private company holding the World Cup rights in order to open its capital to private investors, FIFA and its president have been caught in the storm.

Today, it is the Jordanian federation's turn to attack the international federation.
Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, president of the Jordanian federation, publicly accused FIFA of "blackmail" on the social network X.
" There is no shortage of problems concerning FIFA. Let me start by clarifying what some of these problems represent from the perspective of an FA, particularly Jordan's, entering a World Cup for the first time ," the prince began.
" We are a small country with a minimal budget for our FA, and we have had to face enormous obstacles. First, getting our supporters into the United States: not all of them obtained visas, even though they had tickets — which we also know were sold at exorbitant prices. Second, we are being taxed by the U.S. government through FIFA for our participation. Money that should go to the players and staff. That was not the case for those who played and set up camp in Canada and Mexico. But we were unlucky enough to be in the United States, so now we are facing these huge tax costs just for taking part ."

Al-Hussein then claimed that he still has not received the money that should have been paid to the Jordanian federation because of its run in the Arab Cup in December 2025.
" Third, since December we have been waiting for the prize money for our players for the Arab Cup in Qatar, which is a FIFA event. The money our team should receive for reaching the final has still not been paid, even as FIFA boasts about the billions it has in reserve. "
" It is clear that the real problem lies in the leadership. For months, FIFA has refused to help us on any of these issues or others — until it was verbally communicated to me during the World Cup that if I endorsed Infantino, it would go a long way toward helping our FA. "
" In Jordan, we are proud to uphold ethical values. We did not endorse him before, and certainly not now. But the whole situation amounts to blackmail, and we refuse to give in to it. ," he finally declared.

This statement comes just hours after Arsène Wenger publicly distanced himself from Gianni Infantino's project, but also after Le Monde revealed an email from FIFA's number two also rejecting the idea put forward by the president of the international football federation.
He notably referred to a " series of sad and reprehensible events that fortunately led to the definitive abandonment of the FIFA Forward Enterprise project [FFE]" which " must not obscure this reality, as dismaying as they may have been. "
