Juventus have to find a solution for their midfield as they continue to lose key players, with Manuel Locatelli having undergone surgery . The Bianconeri will now look towards the Next Gen team for players who can provide cover for the first team.
Juve could add a player such as Marcelo Brozovic to their squad, but they might be unwilling to meet his wage demands. They would also have concerns about his fitness, considering his age and his time away from competitive action.
One youngster who featured for Juventus in pre-season is Augusto Owusu, and Luciano Spalletti seems to like the midfielder. According to Tuttosport , we can therefore expect him to feature more often for the team this season.
The report says Juve will find internal solutions to deal with their midfield fitness emergency, with the Bianconeri wanting Owusu to join the senior side permanently now that several midfielders have been injured.
Owusu has already trained with the group and shown that he could be a star for the future. Juventus now need to trust him, which could happen, particularly if Juve suffer another major or minor injury in midfield.
Clubs were willing to take Owusu on loan during the summer, but the Bianconeri rejected those offers. Juventus could now be pleased with that decision, as the youngster may prove useful to the senior team during this difficult period.
The midfield situation means Juve may need to rely on players who are already within their system rather than immediately turning to the transfer market. Owusu has already gained experience with the senior group, giving him an opportunity to show that he can handle a greater role.
Spalletti's apparent faith in the midfielder could also work in his favour as Juventus assess their options. With several players dealing with injuries, the youngster may receive more opportunities to demonstrate his ability.
For Juventus, promoting Owusu could provide a practical solution while also giving a promising young midfielder the chance to establish himself with the senior side.
